Friday Refresh - Fathers that Inspire Us
Hey there,
With Father’s Day this Sunday, we’re feeling all the feels about the incredible dads in our lives—the men who shape us, guide us, and somehow always know exactly what to say (or when to just listen).
We wanted to share some of the amazing fathers who continue to inspire us every single day.
Wolfgang: The “No Mickey Mouse” Master 🔧
My father Wolfgang had the bluest eyes that absolutely sparkled alongside his rosy cheeks whenever he smiled. An immigrant who became a meticulous foreign-auto mechanic, he lived by one golden rule: “No Mickey Mouse.”
Translation? Whatever you’re doing—whether it’s fixing a carburetor or making your bed—do it to the best of your abilities and make yourself proud. He tackled life with pure zest and a beautiful carpe diem spirit that still urges me to grab every moment.
Dave: The Calm in Every Storm 📊
My father-in-law Dave is like having a walking encyclopedia wrapped in the most patient, non-judgmental package imaginable. This CPA became my right-hand advisor during our Formulary 55 purchase (talk about nerve-wracking!), but more than that, he’s taught me the art of staying calm when everything feels chaotic.
His son Gene inherited those same incredible “father skills” – the patience, the deep caring, the way he makes our whole family feel lucky just to be around him every day.
Alan: The Sam Elliott Doppelgänger 🥸
Sage’s dad Alan could be Sam Elliott’s twin—the stature, the voice, that legendary mustache. If you’re looking for the definition of “salt-of-the-earth,” you’ll find Alan’s picture right there.
He’s the strong, silent type who doesn’t say much but somehow always knows exactly when you need an ear. Broken appliances, wounded feelings, life’s curveballs—he fixes everything with precision, perfection, and unwavering integrity. And when he laughs—really laughs—it brings tears to his eyes and lights up the whole room.
Tony: The Dad Who Chose Love Over Fear ❤️
Aubrey’s dad Tony proves that some of the most incredible fathers are the ones who had to figure it out on their own. Without a father figure to look up to, Tony could have let fear win. Instead, he chose something beautiful—a life of complete service and love.
Hard-working, endlessly loving, and the kind of man who’d give you the shirt off his back, Tony didn’t just become an amazing dad—he became the role model and grandpa his family never knew they needed.
Here’s to all the incredible dads out there making the world a little brighter, one “no Mickey Mouse” moment at a time.
Cheers to an amazing weekend!
